Acceptable Use Policy
Version 2026-08
DigitMailer exists to deliver legitimate transactional and operational
email. To protect the deliverability of every customer on the platform,
all accounts agree to the following policy. Violations may result in
immediate suspension without notice.
1. Permitted use
- Transactional mail: invoices, statements, receipts, alerts, password
resets, notifications, and service messages to your own customers.
- Operational mail your recipients expect to receive from you.
- Mail sent only from domains you own and have verified on the platform.
2. Prohibited use
- Unsolicited bulk email (spam) of any kind, including purchased,
rented, or scraped recipient lists.
- Phishing, spoofing, or impersonating any person or organisation.
- Malware, fraudulent content, or links to either.
- Sending on behalf of third parties who have not verified their own
domain and accepted this policy.
- Content that is unlawful under South African law or the law of the
recipient's jurisdiction, including non-compliance with POPIA.
3. Your responsibilities
- Honour unsubscribe and opt-out requests where applicable.
- Keep your API keys secret; rotate them if you suspect exposure.
- Maintain accurate DNS (SPF, DKIM, DMARC) for your sending domains.
- Keep bounce rates and complaint rates within reasonable limits.
4. Enforcement
We monitor sending patterns, bounce rates, and abuse reports. We may
throttle, suspend, or terminate accounts that put platform deliverability
at risk. Where practical we will contact you first; where the platform is
at immediate risk, we will act first and notify you after.
5. Changes
We may update this policy. Continued use after an update, or
re-acceptance at login, constitutes agreement to the current version.
